Cheddar Biscuits
These are smokey, cheesy, rough textured biscuits.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup salted butter - for batter
- 2 tbsp salted butter - for topping
- 1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
Instructions
- Heat oven to 425°F
- Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl
- Melt butter
- Add butter, water, and half-and-half to the bowl and mix
- Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese
- Spoon out batter onto a cookie sheet
- Melt 2 tbsp of butter and brush onto biscuits
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown
