Hot Smoked Wings
These are simple smoked chicken wings. You can rub them or coat them in hot sauce. The smoked wings can be placed in an oven to achieve crispy skin.
Ingredients
- Chicken wings
- Frank’s Red Hot
- Mayonnaise
- Rub
- 1/2 cup kosher salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Get defrosted chicken wings
- Mix water, 1/2 cup salt, and 1/2 cup sugar in a large pitcher for brining
- Place the chicken wings in the brine for 2 hours
- Remove wing from brine, dry them, and place in refrigerator for 2 hours
- Apply mayonnaise then rub or just Frank’s Red Hot to wings
- Heat smoker to 250°F
- Place wings in smoker
- Smoke until wings are about 180°F
- Or smoke for 2 1/2 hours
- Then place in oven at 400°F for 15 minutes for crispy skin
